Fanny Hanusin arrived from Indonesia in 1997 and became involved in theatre whilst studying at Melbourne University. Her first production was Lally Katz’s Pirate Eyes. She has been actively attending short courses and workshops ranging from clowning, vocal improvisations to Viewpoints performance technique ever since. In 2003, she received Green Room Award for female actor in Hospital of the Lost Coin and The Vanishing Box (La Mama). Her past productions include Beyond the Gate of Heavenly Peace, Transit and The True Adventures of A Soul Lost At Sea. She also performed in Chris Lilley's Indigeridoo musical number in the 2006 TV Week Logies Award.
She just completed a Graduate Diploma in Animateuring at Victorian College of The Arts, where she explored personal stories in Hairbrained, her solo and devised Mapping Malin in collaboration with four actors, based on an Indonesian folk tale. Her recent production is Faith, directed by Rachael Maza. In Faith, she had the privilege to work together with the community of Wesley Church in Lonsdale St, which includes Big Issue vendors and Lifeline workers. |
