  April, 2008

Hello and welcome to our second ever monthly Newsletter (this time obviously for April).  We considered doing another March Newsletter for this month (or even perhaps an August one), but conceded that it might be a little confusing – and frankly – we have no clairvoyant on our team.

We’ve completely updated our newsletter list now (apparently some of you didn’t make the transition across), so if you missed out on last month’s newsletter you can find it in our new newsletter archives.   As always – please give us feedback if it isn’t looking right through your email client... programming these isn’t as easy as website construction.

In this month’s newsletter we update you on Troll Bridge, reopen our Forums, whack up some more pictures from The Body shoot, remind you about Rincewind in Bristol, and celebrate our 5th birthday with a screening extravaganza!

 Troll Bridge
Troll BridgeDue to fears with weather and safety, the war scene for Troll Bridge has been pushed back until later in the year when the weather reasserts itself.  For those unfamiliar with Victoria’s weather – it is frivolously randomly at best.  With so much on the line, we’ve only got one chance of getting this right – and it’s very important that we reduce the chance of screw-up as much as humanly possible.

Everything I said in the March Newsletter still stands, and we will still meet our deadline for having the film completed and premiered at the next Nullus Anxietas.  It will also give us time in reshooting the other elements that are bothering us.  It’s a killer film guys – I can’t wait till you see all the hard work that has gone into it!

The Credits page has also been updated to include the new people involved in that mammoth scene.

 Snowgumathlon

SnowgumathlonIs a thank-you to the cast, crew and audiences of all our films (especially the one mentioned just above), we will be holding our first ever annual Snowgumathlon!  During this "Year 5" birthday celebration, not only will we be screening every film we’ve ever made – but also some films from other members of the Snowgum family too!

The Snowgumathlon promises to be a very enjoyable and packed night, whilst also providing an opportunity to get drunk and put faces to names.  The event is open and free to anyone, so there’s really no excuse not to be there...

For film line-up and more information, please visit the official Snowgumathlon 2008 site right here.

Date: Wednesday the 14th of May, 2008.
Time: 7:00pm onwards
Cost: FREE
Location: Gertrude’s Brown Couch
30 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, 3065
Victoria, Australia

 Forums

Our Forums are finally back up and running (no small feat – I assure you) but it does mean we’ve lost pretty much everything.  Without going into the finer points of it all, or delving into where we are heading with it (which you can read about in this post), it does mean we’d like to get the community active once again.

As an incentive, we’ll be giving away a pack consisting of festival copies of Goldilocked, Undead Ted, The Morning After and Run Rincewind Run! to one lucky forum poster by the time the next month’s newsletter jettisons.

Other than the Snowgumathlon, these forums will be the simplest and most succinct way of reaching our ears.  They’re here for you!

 The Body

The BodyYou’ve seen the 2nd and 3rd day of shooting The Body?  Now see the 4th and final.  45 more production photos now up for your enjoyment and revulsion right here.

 Screenings
Bristol Comic Expo Film Night Just a reminder that Run Rincewind Run! will be screening as part of the Bristol Comic Expo Film Night on May 9th.  It’s a free evening, and will present a whole bunch of geek-inspired films.  More information can be found (as always) on our Screenings page.
