Ordinary Americans - Poster

- The Last Film by Bruce Delamitri -

Ordinary Americans was filmed in 2006 as a precursor to a production of Ben Elton’s stage-play, Popcorn.  Televised on screens over the stage, Ordinary Americans opened the play with a scene of slick and stylish violence reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.  Written and directed by Popcorn’s lead character Bruce Delamitri, Ordinary Americans was both integral to the plot of Popcorn as well as offering a mark stone for those not familiar with the grunge realism style of film making.

The scene follows two extortionists - Errol and Mr. Chop Chop – as they question two young lovers on the whereabouts of a missing half kilo of heroin.  Full of punchy Ben Elton wit, a Pulp Fiction styled scenario, and a Sin City look – the scene played out exactly to blood curdling, in-your-face expectation.

While permission was granted to create Ordinary Americans for the stage, we (as of yet) have been unable to obtain permission to host the clip online.  These pages simply serves as an historical footnote on the complete works of Snowgum Films.
